Dental Insurance

X-ray of mouthWhen you are in need of oral surgical care, worrying about how you will fit excellent treatment into your budget should not be a consideration at all. Visiting an oral surgeon who accepts multiple methods of payments can make it easier to comfortably afford an oral procedure -- especially if you are covered by dental insurance. At Altitude Oral Maxillofacial Implant Center, we are pleased to work with insurance to maximize coverage whenever possible. Keep reading to learn more about how it works, and how we can help you save on your next procedure.

How Does Dental Insurance Work?

Oral surgery

Dental insurance is like a benefits plan you pay for throughout the year. In exchange for a monthly premium, you and anyone else who is covered through your plan are eligible for certain discounts on necessary dental services -- including certain oral procedures. You will have to meet a deductible before your coverage will take effect. Then, you can use your benefits until you reach your annual maximum, or the limit for how much your dental insurance will cover from one year to the next. Once you exceed this fixed amount, you will have to pay for the cost of your care out of pocket.

What Does Dental Insurance Cover?

Dental insurance covers the preventive, general, and restorative treatments that patients of all ages require to keep healthy, complete smiles for life. In terms of oral surgeries, dental insurance covers a portion of procedures like simple and surgical tooth extractions (including wisdom teeth removal), periodontal therapy for gum disease and other conditions, and other procedures.

The details of your dental insurance coverage will depend on certain specifics that are chosen by you or your employer at the time of enrollment. Our team of experts will assist you in determining just what you can receive coverage for -- and then maximizing those benefits.
