Oral Pathology Care Can Potentially Save Your Life
Simply put, “oral pathology” refers to an area of disease in the face and/or mouth. Oral cancer is the most common form of oral pathologies, and the deadliest as well – in fact, nearly half of patients with this condition won’t live more than five years past their initial diagnosis. This is because far too many cases of oral cancer aren’t caught until it’s too late. At Altitude Oral Maxillofacial Implant Center, our excellent doctor and dedicated staff work closely with patients to catch and treat cases of oral pathology in their earliest stages. If you’d like to arrange a consultation here in the Denver, CO area, please give us a call.
What Are The Warning Signs of Oral Pathology?
- A lump or thickened area on the inside of the mouth
- Patches within the mouth that look noticeably red or white
- A strange sore that doesn’t seem to be healing and/or bleeds very easily
- A constant sore throat
- Any difficulty with chewing and swallowing
We strongly recommend that patients conduct a self-examination on a monthly basis and contact our practice right away if they find anything alarming. Don’t ignore strange sores or lumps!
How Do You Treat Oral Pathology?
There are a wide variety of treatments that can be used to both treat the oral pathology and revitalize any functional or cosmetic damage to the teeth, jaws, and other facial structure. Our doctor may recommend corrective jaw surgery, gum/bone grafts, or the placement of dental implants to replace teeth that were lost. Above all else, our goal is to help our patients regain and maintain their health and happiness for years to come.
